Wow, how is it even possible to be this far along in life already! So so much has happened at KC! This year should be a breeze, we are only expecting 9 foals, it is gonna be nice to have them spread out and have more time to work with them. We plan on retiring Harry at the end of this year. He will be 18 this year, he has more than proved himself. Harry will become my riding gelding. I am EXCITED! Oreo will join the gelding club in 2025 as his son takes over for him. Mega is pretty darn amazing. [...]

Wow! I truly can not believe 2022 foaling season is a wrap! Now we button down the hatches for winter and get ready to welcome our first 2023 foal the end of February. We welcomed 15 healthy foals this year. I feel incredibly blessed that all mums and babies have flourished and doing incredibly well. I have retained quite a few to grow out. I have decided to part with a few I was keeping because 11 was way to many to hoard. I added a handsome buckskin colt to my program along with a buckski [...]

I remember setting my website up and thinking I was going to get this blogging done every week LOL Well, I had no idea how much work would go into all of this. The marketing, sales, photos, washing, etc… There is a lot of effort. One thing I hope is that buyers appreciate the efforts someone goes through to get them all the info they request. At the end of the day, if they don’t want to buy what said person is selling, PLEASE have the [...]

I can't believe how fast summer has flown by and foaling season is almost a wrap! We were incredibly blessed with 9 fillies and one colt thus far! Legacy had his first crop with 4 foals this year. Two fillies and a colt thus far. Minnie is left to foal and she is up in Canada. Minnie will be put back in foal to SD Empire and then come home. Though we lost one foal due to birthing complications, we are blessed all are healthy and absolutely stunning. I don't think there is one I could really [...]

Happy FALL!! We have been uber busy around PMG & the PMF family is growing rapidly LOL We just got back from our elk hunt in Idaho and are batting down the hatches for winter. We have got new gravel in the runs, in front of all entry points in the pastures, two new noble shelters in our two big pastures, five our our ponies leave in two weeks to their new homes and starting to design our new kennel!
Things are going full steam ahead for winter! I feel like a squirrel collecting all my food for winter LOLWe are done showing, done breeding, and now get to do all the hard work. Babies are being fussed with daily and so are their mums. Getting the mares ready for winter. I evaluate all of the girls body condition and what they need or don't need as far as nutrition and pasture in a certain field according to that.
It is Monday, the show hangover is what I call it LOLFirst show went well for Oreo, Prince, & Red. The judge, well, let's just say you pay for someones opinion when u enter that show ring, and unfortunately, you are at their mercy. So, if they don't know the structure and conformation for this breed, they just, well, pick more sporty types, or like color, or pick stallions with really poor behavior. So, I don't ever put merit on a show recored in breed shows. If [...]

Wow, it is hard to believe that foals are here! We could not be more pleased than we are with our three we have thus far. Pride was the first to foal a BAY filly by SD Gold Digger, we had bred her to Oreo, but Digger was an incredible jumper we found out and caught her just at the rite time LOL We are keeping this filly to run on for mum and hopefully retire her soon. Fab foaled a knockout colt!!
I really can't wait for this year's foaling season! The first year Oreo is with us and seeing his foals from last year has me on pins and needles. Next year we are adding new lines into our program by using a few outside top quality boys to our outstanding girls! We have four girls coming from across the pond this summer! It will be a big year for us next year! Last week Oreo, Red, and I attended the Washington State Horse Expo and preformed with the drill group the Gypsy Chix! B [...]

Well, its almost the New Year!

Oh where oh where has time gone!! I sit at our kitchen table and look at the rain pound the ground like sludge hammers, glad most of the ponies came in for the day, but will go out once I get back from my dressage lesson with Oreo.
Quite a few things have happened since my last blog. My trip to England, shows, elk hunting, barn remodel under way. It is gonna be an exciting new year, that is for sure!! Oh yeah, the addition of our French Bulldogs! Ready Fire Aim Jack and I call it LOL
I am gonna leave off at my last entry, Red blessed us with a real fab colt we are keeping to grow out. He will either be stallion worthy or one amazing show gelding and will be trained to ride and drive. Prada gave us a beautiful colt just like Master Mind! How lucky are we:)
My trip to England this year was wonderful! I got to go to TOYS with the Down ladies and see some wonderful Gypsies and watch Anna and her fab SD mare take the overall championship at only 3yrs old!!! I also bought a filly on this visit. She will be joining us in the states next month and we are elated about her quality to our program. She is one of a kind and will never be recreated and we are truly truly honored we were selected to purchase her:) She will be in our show lineup next year along with a few other babies! Man, I am gonna need to rotate who I show as I have so many I want to get out there for people to see. That is the only reason you will find me in the show ring at breed shows, to let people see our quality. Only way to show people the difference, is seeing in the flesh. Other than that, I hold little faith in the breed shows judging system. Most of all the breed judges are primary other breed judges and don't have a clue about Gypsy conformation, quality, and expectations in breed standards.
At the end of the day, you are paying for someones opinion.
We also don't train all of our breeding stock to ride or drive. Some make a big fuss over this, but each to their own. I feel some of my mares are far to valuable in my breeding program to risk injury or anything else that can happen. Granted, anything can happen, but when our mares give us a few foals we give them a season off. We move them to our 40 acre pasture to live the life of luxury for the season. We do not have to win any titles or ribbons to prove anything, the quality of their off speaks for itself. I do not want to put thousands of dollars into training and years of time on a mare that can't produce. Same goes for our stallions. All stallion prospects will be bred to a few select mares at two to determine their strengths and weakness. Once the foals arrive, we will determine the next breeding based on the foals. We will then determine by the age of four, if the stallion should be gelded or continue on. Buying Oreo was a risk, as we had not seen any of his get, but after seeing all he has produced in the UK, we couldn't be happier to have foals arriving by him next year. Well, I need to head to the feed store, so that is all I have for today. I am gonna be more diligent about posting LOL

Waiting LOL Red's PH is very low and she is waxing, so we are on 24hr notice. Red is the second to last mare due, her and Prada are actually both due on 8/1 but Red goes early. These are our last two Master Plan foals so we can't be more excited. So, hopefully we get two fillies. I do feel Prada is having another colt buy the way she is carrying this foal. But, hopefully she proves me wrong.
All other four colts we have had born this year are doing awesome. Bandit & LJ are sold, we have chose to retain Tax and are selling Stunt Man as a gelding. We do not feel he will surpass his sire in quality and feel he will be an outstanding riding Gypsy. He has a awesome awesome personality and is such a love. He is a true master piece:)
All four mares that have foaled have all settled back in foal to Double Stuff on the first go around! What luck!!
Double Stuff has started light saddle work and is an absolute dream to work with and ride! He will be heading to driving training this fall and be out in the show ring next year:) I may do a few shows with him this year if he is ready, but do not want to take him unless he is ready. He has had a pretty awesome life growing up in England and just hanging with the ladies, so we shall see if we can get him in shape :)
We have two imports coming in August, a new colt that is a mini Gypsy Cob and SD Tesla!! I don't like to transport any of our horses solo and try n always bring pairs over unless someone I know is transporting at the same time. I will travel down to LAX and pick them up.
Next month I travel to England to visit my dear friend Janey Down and the family as well as get our new additions a kiss on the nose for safe travels. I may have to fit a new something in the cargo hold LOL
Well, that is about it this week, I will make an effort to be more diligent with blogging LOL

           2018 FOALING SEASON HAS BEGUN!!

Wow, where does time go!! Fab blessed us with an amazing colt on 4/15 The Tax Man marked just like his daddy Master Plan! Wow, talk about making a harder choice harder. We are running him on to see how he will compliment our breeding program. Pride blessed us with a fantastic colt on May Day LOL That was her due date and I can't believe she foaled on her due date! He is a jet black with a beautiful white blaze and amazing high four white socks! I just love this boy! I don't know why, but there is a real special flair about him. I didn't have this name on my name list, but it just fell into place when he was born LOL
We have decided to call him Jack Of All Trades. His sire is Master Plan, so we thought it was very fitting:)
We will call him LJ for Little Jack. LJ is so full of life and sass, was a little slow to get going and once he figured out nursing he has been unstoppable. LJ is so trying to run around and be a big boy and starting to play with Tax. LJ had the highest IGG test we have ever had! When all of our foals are born, we have them checked over by the vet and do IGG test.

I expect great great things for this boy wether it is a show home, breeding home, or a family member, he is the best minded of all our babies! I will defiantly be finishing up his clip job when this stupid weather warms up a bit! It was freaking snowing this AM. Fab is getting closer to foaling with Pride right behind her!! Maybe a double header LOL I
I have so many pairings I want to keep LOL I want to keep two fillies outa MP if I am blessed with some girls! Well, off to turn out Porter, Master Mind and Delight! Did I mention Delight is going to her new home next month, sniff sniff!

           It’s almost foaling season!

We are gearing up for our third foaling season! We are very excited for this years foal crop and can’t wait to see what Master Plan is gonna produce for us. With our up and coming boys, MP will be focusing on training and letting the other boys do the breeding lol!
Fab will be our first to foal with a MP baby. I’m crossing my fingers for blue eyes and MP always passes on sweet heads, so this should be a fab match.
Pride will follow, I’m praying for a red filly to keep for a replacement for Pride as she will be ready to retire when her filly will be ready to take over.
Sweet Heart is in foal to Flash Harry, this foal will be for sale.
Dream is in foal to a Woolly Mammoth B&W son. I’m not sure yet if I will be retaining this foal. It is Dreams first foal and this stallions first foal crop, so I’m excited to see what we get.
Prada is in foal to MP, they gave us a cracker of a colt! We are running him on to replace MP! So this full sibling will be available for sale.
Lager Mare, well, what can we say, Porter is tops and hopefully we get a red Sabine filly! Can u say keeper!
Check back for updates on our fluffy friends! Cheers

The New Girls On The Block!!

We couldn't be more pleased with our two new mares. They made it in safe and sound and I got them delivered to the CEM facility in Medford OR where they will spend two weeks and we will fetch them then. Dream is just one of the girls that commands attention. I had no plans to show this girl, but I think thats where she is heading as she is just perfect! I am already telling Janey I need another one just like her LOL
SweetHeart is a tank, she is a lot like Fab. She was a bit more jumpy than Dream, but just beautiful. I have no doubts once she gets home here at PMG and settled she will fit right in. I didn't spend much time checking her out as it was such a rush to get them loaded and to Medford. But she is a beauty and I am gonna sitting on pins and needles to see her foal outa Flash Harry. If it is a splashy colt, we plan on running him on:)
Jack and I have been busy working on the barn. We have decided to go with Nelson waterers and Noble stall fronts. This will add a whole new look and make our life simpler and the number one priority is the safety of our horses, this will offer that. We are also redoing ALL of our fencing. The 2" hot tape was a good idea, it just isn't practical for these horses. So a new fencing we will do LOL Along with the fencing, we are adding Noble shelters to our pastures as well. All this work is a huge expense, but in the long run, it will be so so worth it.

Oh boy, I am already getting excited for our 2018 breeding/foaling season and the 2019 foaling season!! This will be Legacy & Diggers first foals and we are using one outside stallion that is a son of Woolly Mammoth! He will be paired up with two of our mares. I will release his name after the mares are confirmed in foal. We will have a really diverse foal crop for 2019, all goes right we will have 9 foals!! Our 2020 crop we will have foals on the ground by MasterMind and Porter. Yep, I have goose bumps LOL.

It's ben a very busy spring and summer thus far and we couldn't be more excited that Dixie is starting to bag up! She will be the next to foal followed by Prada and then Red. I am very proud of how our breeding program is evolving and the future it holds. We are very passionate about the quality or our Gypsy cobs.
Master Plan is proving his worth not only as a producer, but as an amazing saddle horse as well. We have been trail riding and MP keeps his cool and acts like a total gentleman. We have also started our dressage journey and starting weekly lessons with Green Meadow Dressage in Sherwood. We will do a few recognized shows this year and see if we can qualify for championships in September.

Very excited to share that we have started are barn renovations! With our growing heard and needs, we need to upgrade things. We are adding 24ft to the length of the stalls & hay loft and that will make it the same length as the arena. With this will come new stall fronts and heated waterers! Also roll up doors on each end of the building which will be a blessing when that wind and snow hits! We will post pictures of the progrss on our FaceBook page:) Jack is tearing out the old stall that was built on the end a few years ago. We also are going to be totally revamping out tack room! Will be new cabinets, farm sink and I think we may do concrete countertops!! So happy to have a hank hubby!!

Really not the best photo, but it will do for now. This girl is everything and more that we ever dreamed we would get outa Prada and The Don. She has more bone & feather than most mature mares out there. Her feather blows Master Plans outa the water! I will defiantly be breeding MP and her together in two years. It is gonna be really hard letting go some of these babies, but frankly, I am breeding towards bringing back traditional Gypsies. There are a handful of breeders in the US that are breeding for quality over color and I am proud to be one of them. I will also be pairing up Diva with Legacy, that show be something pretty special!! We have our first show in two weeks and I am busy washing the horse trailer, packing it, stocking it with food and getting ready for a summer filled with horse camping and amazing friends!! I don't think we are gonna get out a lot this summer, due to the B&B and the horses, but that is A-Okay! I do want to plan a trip to England with my bestie to go visit our friends and she wants to look at horses. win win :)

Red and Dixie had prego ultrasounds yesterday and all is looking great!! I am very excited for all our foals, but I have a feeling these two are going to be extra special. I will be keeping Dixie's foal if it is a filly at this time. I always like to have a prodigy of all of our mares on the ground as if anything were to happen to the mares, I have those lines still going in our breeding program.
Digger and Legacy are doing fab! We sure couldn't be more pleased with them two. They are being handled daily and getting used to having their feet played with and being tied. Legacy is a bit more reserved than Digger, but he is quiet and sweet. There is a 2 month difference in age and I know once Legacy grows a bit, he will be quite the little rascal. Both have been doing well with the change of hay, Legacy had quite the runny stool for a bit but I seem to have that under control.
It's off to the barn I go to work Teddy and handle babies and wash feather.
Have a safe and great weekend. No matter all the stress in the outside world, step away from it and go spend time with your loved ones and animals.

So much excitement at PMG!! Our heard is almost together. We still have a two more in England to bring over. Our mare will be bred before she comes, so we will have to wait for mother nature to take care of those details. Lady Jane will join us this fall with our other beauty.
Fab is such a sweet sweet mare that wants to crawl in your lap to just be loved! Her blue eyes and striking markings and beautiful build make her a excellent mare to be part of PMG! I was only planning on retaining one foal this year, but I will be keeping a filly if she gives me one! I am also looking forward to getting her in a cart. She has such a presence about her! Fab is destiny is the show ring!! So I may be keeping her open next year:)
Lager Mare aka Red is just wow! At 14HH and more FEATHER than 90% of the stallions in the US, we are ecstatic to add this world class girl to our line. Red is broke to ride and drive and will hit the show ring next year as well. We got a few more surprises up our sleeve.
We are very blessed to have some of the best stock in the world in our front yard and can offer such quality to the public.
Now onto the boys:)
I had a great trip to Los Angeles to pickup Digger and Legacy but I also was able to help out another Gypsy mom and bring her two amazing weanlings that flew in together home with me while her mares complete CEM quarantine in Medford. So stay tuned for pictures of her darling babies on our FB page.
Digger is my boy as I knew I wanted a Don colt before we even went over in August to pick out a new boy to add to our lineup. Jack and I knew this new addition would be his boy since I have Master Plan. So Jack got to pick regardless of what I wanted. I left it to him. The first field we went to was Streetfighters field and it was not 30 seconds in that field that Jack pointed to Legacy and said that’s him:) Of course I couldn't fault Legacy, as he is the caliber we need to move our breeding program to a whole new level. He will look just like is daddy in all ways of quality. Jack didn’t look at any of the other foals and we headed to a few more fields to see more Cob’s and then, we were at The Don’s field! I saw Fab standing out there and went up to her and gave her a bear hug and got a nuzzle back. We walked the field and saw beautiful babies of all colors. What a challenge this was gonna be! I fell in love with Digger! He had such a sweet presence about him and his dam is just beautiful and excellent quality. So, Jack and I went back n forth and there was only one solution, to get them both LOL
When we first got into breeding, I was not going to have more than one stallion…. We have 3 plus our step boy MoonRaker. If Red give me a colt that is anything like Diva or Digger, that boy will not be going anywhere and I am gonna have to set things up around here differently to have five stallions LOL
We have made an offer on a new property that is setup for the expansion of our breeding program and hopefully will sell our home soon so we can make this move. Well, I better get out and get some work done. Happy New Year Everyone!!

I just got home from Festival of The Gypsies in Red Bluff California! What a fun low key show with no drama. This was Teddy's first outing and he was a rock star! I was so excited to have a very calm quiet boy. He took 1 & 2nd in the English amateur classes. The judge absolutely loved him and said he is gonna go far under saddle! I have no doubts this boy is gonna rock in the show ring. Teddy is gonna be a hard to part with as his loving funny personality make him my barn favorite. We bought Teddy knowing I would train him up and find him a forever home. One thing that is very important is all our horses get the proper care. Our broodmares get grooming and conditioning three times a week and the babies 5 days a week basic handing and walks along with show prepping. Saddle training is 5 days a week and two day break. MP is heading to driving training in November, so check back for updates:)

What a busy few last weeks! I made a trip up to my home town Alaska, Ketchikan! What a wonderful time. I really needed it as I have been a bit home sick and need my Alaska fix LOL. I have decided to take two Gypsies up to Ketchikan the summer of 2018! I am gonna try and work all our foals due before or after July so we can go and no worries.
I flew home Monday afternoon and then hit the road Tuesday early for Vancouver BC to take Ellie to her new home. I could not be more pleased with her new digs and Ellie's new mom is a special lady who will love Ellie for the rest of her life! I had no intentions of selling Ellie, but with moving our breeding program forward and having a fab non breeding home for her, I couldn't say no! Ellie is going to be a stunning example of the breed and in her new digs she will have more attention than she knows what to do with.
Now to find Hiccup a wonderful home. I truly love that little man. He is not phased by anything and is more than happy to rest his head in your arms and call it a day:) He is sale pending, waiting for contract back. If his sale falls through, I may be a sign.
We have acquired another 38 acres for our horses and looking forward to having them on quality pasture year round! I am very picky about letting our horses be horses. I do stall some in the winter, but they get tuned out everyday for at least 8 house. 6 of our 9 stalls have runs. This year we will only be stalling 4 of our horses and all the rest will live outside 24/7! I haven't decided who will be on my winter fitness list, but so far Teddy, Carson(Jacks AQH), Dixie.
Master Plan is going to start driving training 11/1/2016!! I am so excited:)
Our new mare, The Lager Mare, is a driving machine & is being put in-foal to SD The Don! This no doubt will be a keeper if it is a filly, if it is a colt, it possibly will be up for sale!
When Janey Down first sent me pictures she KNEW I couldn't ask Jack if we could get another Gypsy! I didn't even ask any questions, I just forwarded them to Jack and he wrote back, when are we getting her:)! Oh, I was tickled pink!! I fell in love with Lager over photos, but after seeing her in person, I couldn't even believe she was ours! She takes our breath away and I would keep walking out to the pasture she was in at the farm and just stare at her! Lager will be coming over this winter after she has settled in foal.

It's August! Wow! Time to get back on track. Lot's has been going on around the ranch and the horses are all happy and healthy! Teddy our new gelding, need to get his pictures up and a little info about him is getting in shape and doing well in his training. I have been focusing on his trail work as my father-in-law will be using him when we go elk hunting in Idaho.
The B&B has been hopping and keeping me VERY busy, so our horse camping trips have been very limited but thats okay, its worth it! We don't have what we have without sacrifice and very hard work.
I am very proud of Master Plan getting all our girls covered this year as he is just two. His foal crop will be one to watch. Master Plan has got to enjoy most of the spring and summer with the mares and foals and he and Hiccup are BFF. Ellie is sold to an amazing home in Canada and her new owner wants her as a riding horse, so MP will have to say bye to the ladies till I deliver Ellie next month.
I have one more show to attend the first weekend in Oct. Not sure who I will be taking yet, I was hoping to take Prada but with two new business this year and starting Ellie for her new owner and keeping up with Teddy & Irish's training Prada is on the back burner:(
We are heading to England soon, so I will have some great surprises to share soon.
Off to work Teddy.
Be nice, Be humble, Be true, Be you, smile! Have a great day!!

           Man time flies!!

Boy, where has summer gone! Projects around the ranch have been keeping us uber busy! I started running a B&B in April and we have absolutely loved it! I did not need anything more to do, but it is well worth it. Next year, we would like to offer a horsey hotel as well. I decided this would be a better route than horse boarding and happy to say we are no longer offering boarding. It was an experience I am glad I got to experience. I started boarding to have horse people around, but they were never around.
So, now I have more room for our horses which has been amazing! Every one is turned out 24/7 and I have two herds. That will change when the new horses come, but will then soon smooth out.
Next moth Jack and I are heading to England to visit the Down's and our horses!! We will be picking out our new colt that will stand along with Master Plan. Not sure what we will pick, but I have no doubts it will be nothing but amazing. We have seen some pretty amazing foals hitting the ground.
I know I have talked a lot about showing this year, but we have fallen considerably short in that department. I have been extremely disappointed with the judging. Watching the judges place stallions that are rearing and striking above Cobs that are being well behaved and are better put together is very frustrating. So, until I find a judge that knows how to properly judge the conformation and temperament, I am going to stick with showing dressage. I am showing one more show this year in California and that is so I can get away that weekend. I will take our gelding and no stress.
I originally got into this breed for the ability to show such sweet calm horses. It's pretty dang frustrating.
The foals are growing like weeds! Joy is the shortest, but she is a brick house. Diva is the tallest and has more hair than both the other two combined LOL. I have no doubt Diva will have as much hair as her sire:) Hiccup is turning into a striking boy and man will he be a force to be reckon with in the show ring!

           It's been for ever! Sorry!

Holy smokes a lot has been going on around the ranch. So much has happened where to start!
Let's start with the babies!! All three of our babies are just to die fore! Diva is the goddess of hair, OMG!! She also posses one of the sweetest friendliest personalities I have ever seen on any animal. She is gonna be tall, she stands at about 12.2 and is only 9 weeks old.
Joy, well, she's in a league all of her own. She is built like a tank and has a zesty personality to go with it. She is loving and kind but is all about the "look at me" attitude. I have no doubts this girl is gonna ROCK the show ring.
Hiccup, well, he's all boy LOL! Hiccup loves to run and play, but still sticks close to mum. He is very very sweet and very laid back, just like his dam. Ellie is my FAVORITE mare just for the reason she is so kind and gentle but yet this tank. Noting phases that girl and Hiccup is following in her hoof steps.
I am heading out today to body clip Hiccup and get pictures. We have decided to sell Hiccup to make room for another mare we purchased. Wait till you see this girl. UNBELIEVABLE!
On to the next....
We have several hay fields that we hay for our horses and cattle, this usually ALWAYS happens around the fourth of July, but it was a month early this year, so we were very busy filling the barn. Jack still has 20 acres to cut starting today and we got some nice rain last week and hopefully will get a 2nd cutting off our best field.
Our trip is booked for England in August. We may have a few more surprises to announce soon:)
I need to head out and grab Ellie and Hiccup for bath day.
Cheers!

Well, foaling season has finished for us at PMG! We were blessed with two incredible fillies and one colt out of Ellie last Wednesday at 1:30 AM. It is amazing how all three are almost identical in markings. We are unsure at this point if we are gonna keep the colt, SD Night Fury aka Hiccup. I really want a show gelding, but it will depend on if I will have the time to train and show three babies plus the other stock. It is just me doing the upkeep and training. Jack does morning chores and has so many other projects going on around the ranch it doesn't leave him much time for the horses. It is very important that all the horses have excellent care.
It off to the barn to grab Irish and ride. Irish has had the last few weeks off of saddle training and we are gonna try and go to a few schooling dressage shows next month.
Cheers,

Boy, where has time gone! I wanted to get to blogging at least once a week. Sorry for my shortfall on that LOL.
A lot has been going on around PMG as we ready for spring and the show season. All three of our lovely mares are really showing signs of being pregnant. I discovered Prada is twice as bagged up as Ellie! EEEEEEKKKKKK!! We are a tad bit excited for our first foal crop!
Last weekend I took Master Plan and MoonRaker to the NW Horse Expo, what a fun time!! I could do that all day long rather than showing. It was so much fun just sharing the Gypsies with everyone and educating on the breed and meeting new people! We defiantly have it on the books for next year and I will have Master Plan driving! Yeah!
Jack and I also meet a really nice rep for Old Mill Feeds, his name is Jeff. Jeff has offered to take us back with Purina Feeds to see the testing facility and learn about their feed! Jack and I are both thrilled with this opportunity to see and learn all about the feeding program of the Budweiser Clydesdales!
Also, have I mentioned I am in love with the Equiderma products?! Check them out! There is defiantly an amount of work that goes into caring for our feathered beauties, Equiderma makes it easier for me and makes for happy horses!
I do get excited about sharing stuff I find is worth its weight in gold. I try just about anything to find the best of the best. From hay bags to a dialed in feeding program, I test them out. I will do my best to share great finds that are worth purchasing.
Well, It's off to the feed store.
Cheers,

Last weekend I had a great opportunity to take Master Plan to a schooling show to work on some halter squaring and standing still! MP was a rockstar! So calm and took it all in like a champ. The judge gave us the best compliment, "he's a husky fella!" Oh yeah!!
MP really has been growing.. A lot! not going up as much as he is packing on the muscle and bone like a bodybuilder bulking up. I guess that explains why he sleeps more than the other horses. He truly is a remarkable traditional cob. I am elated to have him in our fields and call him ours.
MP will be a remarkable asset to the Gypsy Cob breed and carry on the traditional proper attributes the Gypsy people created the breed for. I best get out and work Jacks rope horse Carson and bathe Irish while the weather is sunny and 60 degrees today!! Cheers

Jack and I are looking forward to 2016 with the arrival of our first foal crop! We plan on retaining two of our three foals for our breeding program and give us some babies to hit the show scene with:)
The week before Christmas we headed down to California to get our three new girls and Jennifer Truax’s new colt SD MoonRaker. When Master Plan was sent over (7/2015), I was on a road trip heading to Missouri picking up SD Easy Elegance from the SD Farm, so I didn't get to go pickup MP with Jack. It was fun to see the process and meet the people of Jet Pets. I will post the pictures of the “pods” they are shipped in. There are three horses per pod. While on the journey, they are accompanied with a groom who attends to their safety and food needs while on the plane. I have learned about the two style of jets that the horses come over on, a freighter or a half passenger and half freight which tends to run smoother time wise than the freighter.
Once the horses arrive, then its time for USDA temp readings, this is done throughout the day. The horses were then released after 48 hours of normal temps; if one had a raised temp, it would be seen by the vet and not released until the horse had a stable temp, and of course, additional costs. Any stock under two years does not have to partake in any additional screening, but our mares will have to spend two weeks(stallions 4 weeks and have to successfully breed a mare) screening for CEM in Medford with Penny, who is amazing. It was our first time meeting Penny and she is a joy to work with and it clearly shows the horses are her PASSION! I will include the link for both the USDA and Penny’s webpage.
Back to our trip, Jack and I were the first to get loaded up, the two mares first and Dixie and MoonRaker aka Mr. were in the last stall, big enough for the two yearlings, we took our bumper pull trailer for this reason. Once everyone was loaded up, the USDA sealed the back of the trailer as it cannot be opened or tampered with. A USDA vet cuts off the zip ties when you arrive at the CEM facility(Penny’s). I asked myself, what if there was an emergency and the trailer had to be opened? Well, you call state patrol. Good to know LOL.
Jack and I drove straight from LAX to Penny’s. We took turns driving while the other slept. The weather was perfect:).
Once the mares were unloaded and put in their stalls, we put the yearlings in a stall, let them feed and drink as we went to breakfast to give them a break before we started the trek home. We were able to feed and water all the horses during the trip by having access with the drop down windows. We chose to pickup our horses for two reasons, the cost and knowing they will be handled properly and safely. Though I would trust Penny anytime to get our horses. Next week, we get to go pick up Prada and Pride, so excited to have those two amazing girls running in our pastures!
